There are girls running in “Girls only” events. Although, since marathons opened their doors to both genders, a girl running a marathon race is no odder than a man running in the same race as the girl. Both genders and sometimes ages (although most marathons restrict entrance age of both genders to 14 or 16and over), take part in running races in Rochester N. Y., Boston, London, Paris, Texas, Florida, Russia and many other countries in North America and around the world.
You can observe the popularity of running every morning as people put on their running tights, lace up their shoes, grab their timers or heart monitors and become “road runners.” The term “road runners,” however, usually refers to marathon runner’s not recreational runners or morning joggers.
