Running Stores
Running stores are specialty stores geared toward helping runners improve their game. A running store does not handle other sports. It does not sell products related to other sports. It is, first and foremost, a store dedicated to all things running.
There are several different types of running. You should keep this in mind when you are trying to locate a running shoe store. It is true that other stores, including super duper shoepers and discount shoe stores, carry running shoes. The question is, however, whether the cheapest running shoe store or any of your local discount running shoes stores or even your online running shoe store can provide you with the products and service suitable for your needs.
The problem lies with the definition of running shoe. To many, a running shoe is any type of sports shoe. Basketball, soccer tennis and other sports players wear “running” shoes. People on the street, rappers, rock stars and wannabes wear running shoes. As a beginner runner, do you think all running shoes are created equal? If you have any questions, does the local generic running shoe store have the right answers? Maybe they do, or maybe they do not.

The easiest way to find out about the right running shoes for you is to go to a specialty-running store. The running store, such as represented by A Snails Pace Running Shop, John’s Run Walk Shop and Super Runners Shop, exist to provide runners of all stripes with information as well as products suitable for individual runners. A Snails Pace is a specialty running shop with stores in Pasadena, La Brea, Fountain Valley and Laguna Hills. A Snails Pace and Johns Run Walk Shop also have online running stores. Their sites provide you with more than running shoes. Unlike generic stores, specialty stores are more than just running shoes shops. They supply information on running meets, races, events and local running clubs. They also have resource material on running.
There are specialty-running stores all across the country. The periodicals, including Runners World and Running Times list several of them. These include The Maine Running Company in Maine, Falls Road Running in Maryland, Runner’s Alley with two stores in New Hampshire, Paragon Sports and Runners’ Edge in New York State, Elite Runners and Walkers in Pennsylvania, Runner’s Market in Tennessee and Triathlon World in Wisconsin.
