Anytime after April, and sometimes before then, magazines start promoting summer fashions. Swimwear, being part of the summer season, has a specific presence in such issues. Swimwear, usually for women, is discussed, analyzed and shown on page after page within different magazines. Advertisements further emphasize what’s hot and what is not.

In most fashion, women’s and girls/teen magazines, you find various articles supporting the swimwear of the season. You learn how to choose swimsuits. Writers dictate how to prepare for the swimsuit season, how to choose the most flattering style for you, exercises to help you fit into this season’s swimwear and where to purchase swimwear.

Some authors and their magazines focus on different aspects of the swimsuit experience. One article might deal with the teenage desire to fit in, even if they cannot fit in the popular swimsuits. Another article might look at why women hate to try on swimsuits. Still another writer might delve into the psychology of the perfect fitting swimsuit and the perfect swimsuit model.

The closest thing to a swimming suit magazine is Sports Illustrated the Swimsuit Edition. Yet, like several online sites mentioning swimsuits, the magazine is more about selling sex than swimsuits. The magazine appeals to a mainly male audience who want to see something similar to Playboy. The same is also true of two online swimsuit magazines - Swimwear Daily and Swimsuit international Magazine.

Swimsuit International Magazine and Swimsuit Daily are online “magazines.” The major content of these particular swimsuit magazines is the skimpily attired models. Swimsuit International Magazine boasts the motto of “Fun in the Sun.” Swimwear Daily, a particular favorite of many internet users, does provide a few articles as well as pictures. The whole problem with their coverage is their focus on super models. The swimsuits rank a poor second to such things as supermodel workouts and a cover model search.

Another more serious option for people actually interested in the swimwear is Ujena Swimwear Magazine. Although like a catalog, it does have a commercial and not a sex-oriented intent.
