Swimming Team
Many swimmers prefer to swim by themselves; other individuals prefer to belong to a swimming team. Swimming clubs and teams are found all over the country and worldwide. They provide a place where young children and adults can learn the basics of swimming in a nurturing environment. In these clubs, you can decide whether you wish to become a part of a swim team.
Swim teams do offer advantages to learners and experienced swimmers. Whether you wish to become part of a girls swim team or a male swim team, the lessons and experiences are unique to a team environment. Team sports allow you to become part of a larger entity, to identify yourself with a group, to take pride in helping your teammates achieve a common goal. It gives you a particular identity and helps you bond with and socially react with others.
There are swimming teams at different levels. You can join a high school swim team. There are swim teams at Upper Dublin High School, Andover High School, North Cobb, Georgia, High School, Coshocton High School and Leon High School. These high school swim teams often have their own web sites and post swim team photos as part of the swim team gallery. If you go the Internet and type in a simple phrase, e.g. “2003 swim team,” you will find photos and data of hundreds of swimming teams. Some of these are from meets and other competitions. High school swim teams attend local and regional swimming events. In one meet, Leon High School in Tallahassee came home with a third place boys and a seventh place girls finish out of 132 teams.
